Procedure for continuous-flow respirator flowrate determination.
NIOSH 1975 Nov; :1-19
The test procedure is described for determining the volume of air delivered by a continuous-flow supplied-air respirator. The test results of this method can be documented on recorder paper. The respiratory-inlet covering of a supplied-air system is placed in a container with an outlet; the outlet of the container is connected to a pneumotachometer and pressure transducer. Flowrates delivered by the respiratory-inlet covering at specified pressures and air- supply hose lengths are recorded and determined from a graph prepared during pneumotachometer calibration.
