Radiological criteria in diagnosing dysbaric osteonecrosis.
NIOSH 1974 Jan; :151-159
A system of lesion classification widely accepted as radiological evidence of early aseptic bone necrosis is presented. Diagnosis of the different types of lesion is discussed. X-ray techniques are discussed, and other pathological conditions in which aseptic bone necrosis occurs are listed. For workers exposed to dysbarism, the importance of yearly X-rays is emphasized, since diagnosis is difficult from a single X-ray exposure, but significant changes can be observed in a series.
