Abstract
Review of the distribution of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the environment and the potential health effects of human exposure. Topics include manufacture, uses, and reported deleterious effects of PCBs. PCBs are poorly metabolized and tend to accumulate in animal tissues, including humans. Known toxic effects include chloracne, skin pigmentation, eye discharge, eyelid swelling, and distinctive hair follicles.
