A method is described for the adsorption on charcoal and desorption with 5 percent methanol (67561) in methylene-chloride (75092) for gas chromatographic determination of 2-butoxy-ethanol (butyl- cellosolve) (111762). Data are given on the principle, range and sensitivity, interference, precision, accuracy, advantages and disadvantages of the method. Also described are the apparatus, reagents and procedure used; analysis of samples; determination of desorption efficiency; calibration and standards, and calculations.
