A system is developed to define agricultural, occupational toxicology research needs and problem areas using the best available knowledge and data. Using a priority list developed by the ARAL Information Section and inputs from other sources, ethyl-parathion (56382), methyl-parathion (298000), guthion (86500), carbophenothion, anhydrous ammonia, paraquat (4685147), methyl- bromide, carbaryl (63252), ethylene-dibromide (106934), and ethylene- dichloride are selected for in-depth investigation. Also studied are pesticides and reproductive function, pesticides and the immune system, pesticides and the eye, agricultural aviation, pesticides and neurobehavioral function, chronic effects of pesticides, and pesticides and cancer.
