Effects of tobacco smoke on biological systems.
Scand J Respir Dis 1974 Jan; 71:63-78
Review is presented of the mechanisms of effects of cigarette smoke on biological systems, including effects on pulmonary cells, blood cells, aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase, polymorphonuclear leukocytes, macrophages, and on fetal development. Additional dose-response data are needed for conclusive criteria.
