Pulse rates in nonsmokers. A preliminary report.
NIOSH 1975 Jul :1-461
A quick, manual analysis of data pertaining to the relationship of history of allergy to pulse rate in the nonsmoking transit workers with hypertension is made to test if increased heart rate is an important factor in the genesis of hypertension. Results show differences in mean blood pressures between the allergic and the non- allergic but no evidence of a relationship of pulse rate to history of allergy.
