Coal mine dust personal sampler unit testing.
Transactions of the Thirty-Second Annual Meeting of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, May 10-12, 1970, Detroit, Michigan. 1970 May; :149-163
Tests used to determine whether coal-mine dust personal samplers meet specifications set forth in 30 CFR 74 are described. Several sampling units are described and illustrated. Specifications and tests for the pump unit (flow rate indicator, pulsation, duration), sampling head assembly (filter, hygroscopicity, capsule), dust loading, preweighing, and battery charger are detailed. Dust concentrations with an expected accuracy of about 15 percent can be determined from samples taken by a personal unit approved as specified in the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969.
