Immunological reflections on asbestos.
Environ Health Perspect 1974 Dec; 9:297-298
Immunological evidence concerning asbestos and asbestosis is reviewed and discussed. Because Mycoplasma and other rodent infections can cause significant changes in animals, it is suggested that: pathogen-free animals should be used for experiments on asbestos (1332214); strict quarantine measures should be enforced; and animals should be monitored for Mycoplasma infection.
