Abstract
Investigation of 99,029 men between the ages 40-59, classified by physical activity required by jobs, reveals that subjects with sedentary or moderate physical activity show a significantly higher mortality through coronary cardiopathy than men of the same age engaged in heavy physical work, with a ratio of 1.6:1. These data support the theory that sedentary work implies a coronary risk. (Italian)
