Spectrophotometric determination of phosphorus as molybdovanadophosphoric acid. application to air-borne particulate matter.

A modified spectrophotometric procedure is described for determination of phosphorus (7723140) as molybdovanadophosphoric- acid involving variation of the amount of perchloric-acid (7601903) in mixture with nitric-acid (7697372) used with the ammonium- metavanadate (7803556) and ammonium-molybdate-tetrahydrate reagents. The method is applicable to airborne organic phosphorus compounds and inorganic phosphorus compounds collected as particulates by membrane filters and paper filters.
