Environmental evaluation, analysis of work practices, and interview of employees using a silicone vulcanizer paint mixture to spray silicone rubber gaskets, reveal that the concentration of methyl ethyl ketone (78933), xylene (1330207), toluene (108883), and petroleum naphtha vapors in the spray room are not toxic under normal operating conditions. Recommendations are made for measures designed to keep employee exposures to the solvents to a minimum.
