Cincinnati, OH: U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Public Health Service, Centers for Disease Control, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, DHEW (NIOSH) Publication No. 74-108, 1974 Apr; :1-31
Report evaluating the performance of portable meters to determine performance capabilities and limitations for establishing standards, and for discovering which instruments are best suited for use by NIOSH and OSHA. Data are given for examination characteristics, testing equipment, and evaluation results. Recommendations are made for consideration in developing standards for portable nitrogen dioxide meters in respect of portability, ease and simplicity of operation, manual, direct reading capabilities, purchase cost, and other factors. A continuation of such evaluations is hoped to improve the portability and quality of portable direct reading nitrogen dioxide and other gas contaminant meters.
