J Occup Med 1974 Mar; 16(3):199-200
A health hazard evaluation (dust sampling, materials analysis) is carried out at a synthetic textile products manufacturing facility using an acrylic emulsion polymer, containing ethyl-acrylate (140885) polymer, following the hospitalization of a worker for a respiratory condition suggestive of a job site hazard. High levels of methyl-acrylate (96333) in the breathing zone of the workers are considered to be a hazard, although significant subjective manifestations (described by workers) do not result from this exposure. Improved engineering controls and housekeeping are recommended.
