Mining Feature: NIOSH Response to 2018 NAS Dust Report

NIOSH has released its responses to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's 2018 consensus report, Monitoring and Sampling Approaches to Assess Underground Coal Mine Dust Exposures.
The National Academies' report provides 13 recommendations to improve coal mine dust assessment based on the report's conclusions. NIOSH has studied the report's recommendations and developed responses to each of them. In particular, the NIOSH responses indicate how the program has addressed the recommendations already or has plans to address them in the future.
