Circadian Rhythms Promote Wakefulness
Figure 3 shows the rise and fall of circadian rhythms for wakefulness.
The circadian rhythms
- Create a peak in wakefulness in the evening, a few hours before bedtime
- This may increase alertness in early evening, even after being awake for long periods of time, and may make it difficult to go to bed earlier.
