NCHS/AcademyHealth Data Visualization Challenge
Date and Time: Summer 2021 (submission date to be announced)
Description: NCHS data cover a wide array of topics that can be explored across demographic, socioeconomic, and geographic characteristics. Data visualizations can help NCHS effectively communicate statistical information to target stakeholders. NCHS is partnering with AcademyHealth on a competition for masters or doctoral-level students. Contestants will use two or more of the machine-readable files from Health, United States, 2019 to create interactive data visualizations that identify and explain an important trend or disparity in public health. The machine-readable files are currently available on the Health, United States, 2019 Data Finder.

This National Center for Health Statistics webinar will summarize key findings from the report, review tools for using the data in health disparities research, and update viewers on program modernization efforts.
