NCHS Data Detectives Camp

The 2023 NCHS Data Detectives Camp was hugely successful! We welcomed 36 outstanding students from places near and far, including California, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas, and Washington, D.C. Together, we shared another exciting and enriching experience.
We’d like to extend a special thanks to Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller for her gracious presence and for engaging our campers, including hosting a spirited game of Jeopardy!
We’d also like to thank the remarkable NCHS staff who made the camp possible and our invaluable partners: the American Statistics Association, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the CDC Museum, the University of Maryland Joint Program in Survey Methodology, the University of Maryland School of Public Health, the University of Maryland Social Data Center, and the National Center for Education Statistics.
Here’s to the importance of supporting STEM-based camps and fostering a love for statistics!
