Director of Division HIV/AIDS Prevention

Dear Colleagues,

January 15, 2020

CDC is recruiting exceptional candidates for the position of Director of the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention. The Division has a staff of nearly 800, and a broad portfolio including HIV prevention programs, research, policy, communications, and partnership efforts. The Division leads CDC’s efforts in HIV prevention in the United States and is on the forefront of the recently proposed Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative, aimed at reducing new annual HIV infections by 75% over the next 5 years, and 90% in 10 years. Ending the HIV epidemic in the United States is a challenging, yet achievable goal. CDC is looking for candidates who can leverage critical scientific advances in HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and response; collaborate well with the diverse HIV community; work with national, state, and local partners; support cutting edge research, evaluation, policy and communications; and oversee a large, vibrant Division with diverse, dedicated and multidisciplinary staff.

Please review the recruitment announcement and consider applying or sharing with others who you think would be excellent candidates for consideration.

Thank you,

/Jonathan Mermin/
