And we developed a faster way to detect foodborne outbreaks. Breaking the mold Our experts moved beyond their usual scope to investigate vaping injuries. We also found new ways for mosquito hunters to sharpen their skills. Collaborating to make a difference We worked with partners to prepare for biological events. With partners we developed an app to help doctors spot drug-resistant threats. Combating infections in the US We responded to a Salmonella outbreak linked to pig ear dog treats. And we confronted an increasing threat from tickborne diseases. Confronting infections across the globe We worked to control the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. And we came up with a better diagnostic test for yellow fever. Protecting travelers’ health We alerted travelers about drug-resistant surgical infections in Mexico. And we worked hard to prevent measles from coming into the country. Observing significant milestones We noted the 50th anniversary of our high-containment laboratories. And recognized 20 years of the Laboratory Response Network. Looking ahead Now we set our sights on addressing the challenges of a new decade.
