Management structure for school screening

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is the lead fiscal agent for the ELC Reopening Schools grant, including having primary responsibility for budgeting, reporting, and providing deliverables as needed to CDC. MDH works closely with Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) on implementation of key deliverables, including reporting metrics and workplan updates. MDH has entered into an interagency agreement with MDE to also provide funding for MDE to distribute to schools to carry out duties of the grant.

Support provided to school districts

MDH refers to current CDC guidance regarding detection, prevention, and control of COVID-19 in K-12 schools. Screening testing is encouraged, as recommended by CDC.
