CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity developed, tested, and placed “Rethink Your Drink” public service advertisements to educate people about the health consequences of added sugars, the amount of sugar in popular drinks, and encourage them to choose water for themselves and their families. These public service advertisements ran from September 13-19, 2021, on Google and had an average click through rate of 1.72%, significantly above the industry average for digital ads in the health sector (.41%).
