A new CDC analysis finds that among 21 jurisdictions studied, 76 percent reported cases of Legionnaires’ disease associated with healthcare facilities — a concerning finding because the disease is particularly severe when acquired from such facilities. Legionnaires’ disease kills 25 percent of people who get it from a health care facility.
