Mark Winarsky, MPA, PMP, is the programming team lead in the Division of Injury Prevention at CDC’s Injury Center. His work is focused on modernizing WISQARS and expanding functionality of this robust injury data system.
Mr. Winarsky has more than 20 years of advanced project management and leadership experience, including the organization of the first CDC Emergency Operations Center, working in the Joint Information Center assigned to the National Smallpox Vaccination Program, and leading the development, implementation, and overall management of SLPPMIS (currently known as PERFORMS) Grants Management System. He led CDC’s Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Requirements and Certification Programs’ development and implementation and managed the PHIN Help Desk.
He has led center-wide teams responsible for developing and implementing SharePoint and other electronic tools and services that have improved program processes and outcomes within centers and throughout the agency.
Mr. Winarsky has a master’s degree in public administration and is a certified project management professional.
