1. Using data linkage to identify at-risk populations: Wisconsin linked data from the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), an electronic database that tracks controlled substance prescriptions, to hospital, vital records, and other state agency data to examine opioid overdose risk factors for vulnerable populations.

2. Alerting health systems: Wisconsin integrated state case-reporting and surveillance systems to facilitate information-sharing between hospitals and clinicians about opioid overdoses and other opioid-related harms.
