1. Strengthening linkage to care: West Virginia organized teams of first responders, substance abuse counselors, and peer specialists that will deploy to link people who overdosed to treatment services.
2. Improving nonfatal overdose surveillance data: West Virginia is developing materials for emergency departments in high-risk counties to ensure post-overdose patients are linked to risk reduction services or treatment.
