1. Mapping overdose outbreaks: Minnesota adopted an Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) statewide so that first responders can map opioid overdose outbreaks, the suspected substances involved, and basic demographic information about overdose victims. ODMAP data can inform development of targeted strategies to address the opioid crisis.
2. Training law enforcement: Minnesota trained law enforcement personnel to effectively engage people who inject drugs by teaching them about syringe service programs and naloxone.
