1. Delivering MAT post-overdose: Maine developed and delivered in-person and online medication-assisted treatment (MAT) trainings for hospital executives and emergency department providers to facilitate linkages to care post-overdose. MAT is a treatment for opioid use disorder combining the use of medications with counseling and behavioral therapies.
2. Expanding Naloxone access in rural areas: Maine facilitates the distribution of naloxone rescue kits and provides education on opioid overdose and life-saving rescue measures to high risk populations and remote rural residents.
