1. Improving PDMP analytics: Kansas strengthened its technology infrastructure and analytical capabilities to support rapid analysis of state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) data. PDMP is an electronic database that tracks controlled substance prescriptions in a state. This helps health authorities identify trends and target activities.
2. Linking patients to treatment: Kansas is developing and implementing emergency department overdose protocols, policies, and procedures to link patients with opioid use disorder to medication-assisted treatment as well as other community recovery services.
