1. Using data for action: Florida hosted regional trainings to assist public officials, law enforcement, and harm reduction partners in creating response protocols. These protocols help coordinate response activities when overdose spikes are detected in their regions.

2. Using data for action: Florida upgraded EMS data systems and incorporated data into ESSENCE, CDC’s ED-based, syndromic surveillance system, where it can be used with other data sources for public health monitoring and response.
