The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is hosting the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases 2010 (ICEID 2010) at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia from July 11 to July 14, 2010.

The 2010 conference marks the seventh ICEID, and since 1998, CDC has organized this conference in collaboration with public health partners including the American Society for Microbiology, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, the Association of Public Health laboratories, and the World Health Organization (WHO).  The meeting brings together approximately 2400 international scientists and public health professionals to foster an exchange of innovative research and ideas of public health importance pertaining to emerging infectious disease topics.

The ICEID highlights global partnerships in emerging infectious disease surveillance and response, global prevention initiatives, and preparedness.  The program will include plenary and panel sessions with invited speakers, as well as oral and poster presentations on emerging infections. Major topics to be included are antimicrobial resistance, foodborne diseases, vector-borne and zoonotic diseases, vaccines, influenza, social determinants, global infection and control, molecular epidemiology, and many other topics related to the challenges posed by microbial threats both in the United States and abroad.

The ICEID 2010 Steering Committee is working diligently to ensure an exceptional conference experience for all participants.  We thank the CDC Office of Infectious Diseases (OID) and its national centers for their support.
