Current CDC Interstitial Cystitis Activities

The CDC is currently working with the Boston Children’s Hospital to obtain estimates of incidence of Interstitial Cystitis (IC) comorbidities, define the demographic, treatment, and clinical patterns of IC, examine health disparities, and document IC’s impact on the health of affected people over time. In addition, the project focuses on translating scientific knowledge on IC to support public health practice, including patient strategies for improving quality of life, provider awareness and education, and medical and self-management of IC.
