What We Do

In partnership with the government of Mali and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), CDC helps support prevention programs, including Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programs, and those that provide counseling and diagnosis of  Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and those that provide  HIV services for commercial sex workers and their partners, Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), and incarcerated populations.

CDC also provides financial and technical assistance for national antenatal clinic surveys, formative assessments, bio-behavioral surveys for MSM and miner populations, and for capacity building of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and local NGOs in monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Additionally, CDC supports the national HIV/STI program through training and development of guidelines for diagnosis and treatment, and provides technical assistance to enhance the capacity of the National Public Health Research Institute through laboratory-based quality assurance control programs
