Event Attendance

When can I register if I missed the April 15th registration deadline? When can I check-in on-site?

  • Sunday, April 28:  11:00am – 5:00pm
  • Monday, April 29 – Wednesday, May 1: 7:00am – 5:00pm
  • Thursday May 2:  7:00am – 2:00pm

How do I register for the Prediction Run, and how much does it cost?

The registration is free, but registrants may opt to order a commemorative t-shirt for a cost of $25.00. Online registration closed April 9th. To register in-person at the conference, visit the EIS Alumni Association exhibit booth.

How do I get to the Prediction Run?

The Prediction Run location will be held at Piedmont Park, 400 Park Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. The distance between the EIS conference hotel and park is approximately two miles. Transportation will not be provided. Please plan to make your own arrangements to get to and from the run.

Where can I find a detailed event schedule?

If you’re looking for a detailed schedule, registered participants will receive a hard copy of the conference program book on-site upon check-in and will have access to a digital version on the conference mobile app. The conference program will provide a detailed schedule of speakers and presentations by date and time, in addition to information about the program, awards, and venue.

How can I access the conference mobile app?

You’re invited to download the mobile app using this link: 68th Annual Epidemic Intelligence Service Conference, April 29 – May 2, 2019external icon, or you may search for “Guidebook” in the Apple or Google Play store and download to your device.

Once installed, open the app and search for: 68th Annual Epidemic Intelligence Service Conference, select “Get” to open this event.

How much does it cost to attend the conference?

Event registration is free and open to the public.

Are CE units available for attending the EIS conference?

Yes, CE units are available for attending the EIS conference. See the conference book for instructions on how to obtain the units.

Will certificates of attendance be available for attending the EIS conference?

Unfortunately due to limited bandwidth certificates of attendance are not available for attending the conference.

Will there be a lactation room available at the conference hotel?

Yes. Visit the EIS conference information booth to sign out the lactation room key.

Where is the location of the Lost and Found?

Visit the registration desk if you are looking for a lost item or have found an item.

How do I navigate the conference venue?

Directions to the conference hotel from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport?

Take I-85N and continue on I-75N/I-85N. Take exit 248C for Freedom Parkway towards GA-10E/Andrew Young International Blvd. Use the left lane to follow signs for International Blvd. Continue onto Andrew Young International Blvd. Turn left onto Courtland Street SE and then left onto the property.

Which Marta bus stop location is closest to the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel?

If you are traveling from the airport, take any northbound train to the Peachtree Center MARTA station. Follow the signs pointing John Portman Blvd after exiting the train. After walking through the fare gate, follow the signs again to Peachtree Street East. At street level turn left on Peachtree and walk to the first intersection (look for Hard Rock Cafe) and turn left on Andrew Young International Blvd. The entrance to the hotel is two blocks down at the intersection with Courtland Street.

Does the conference hotel provide shuttle service from the airport to the hotel?

No.

What safety precautions should I take if I decide to ride a scooter in the Downtown Atlanta?

Wear a helmet to protect your head, and if need be, a mouth guard. Elbow and knee straps protect those corners from scrapes and bumps if you tip over.
