The following has important public health information designed to help you take precautions with the water you drink. The places where you normally get water could be dangerous after a natural disaster even if the water looks clear. Local officials can make specific recommendations for boiling or treating water in your area. If you don’t have safe bottled water, you should boil water for 1 minute to make it safe. Adding 8 drops of 5-6% household bleach into 1 gallon of water can also make it drinkable. Never drink any water that has been mixed with gas or any other dangerous chemical products.
