Brooke provides strategic leadership, management, and oversight of CSELS operations. She directs the day-to-day management of approximately 700 staff and contractors and a budget of more than $197 million. She serves as a senior advisor to the CSELS Director.
Brooke joined CSELS on a detail in April 2014 and became the permanent Management Officer in August 2014. Since joining the center, she has led the development and implementation of a CSELS-wide strategic plan, led a programmatic review of all CSELS programs for efficiencies and performance metrics, addressed critical workforce needs including the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce, and developed and implemented a communications plan for the center.
Prior to joining CSELS, Brooke served as the Office of Safety, Security, and Asset Management and the Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness Management Official. Brooke began her career at CDC as a Presidential Management Fellow in the Financial Management Office’s Congressional Legislative Branch.
Brooke received her undergraduate degree in organizational communications and political science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Georgia, focusing her studies in finance and budget and human resources.
