Best practices of nucleic acid amplification tests for the diagnosis of Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile

To keep pace with next generation sequencing (NGS) technology that is rapidly expanding into public health and clinical laboratory testing, CDC and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), in collaboration with state and local public health laboratory partners, began the NGS Quality Initiative Project. This project, co-led by DLS, CDC’s Office of the Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases, and APHL, developed an NGS-focused quality management system (QMS) to address challenges public health laboratories encounter when they develop and implement NGS-based tests.

Free QMS Tools and Resources are now available for laboratories to adapt and use to train personnel, choose appropriate protocols and analytic options, and put effective management and process controls in place. We invite you to spread the word about this valuable resource. The project will publish more tools in the QSE categories on the site over the next three years.
