Chare Brown, BS, MBA, MPH

Chare Brown, BS, MBA, MPH is the Associate Director of Information Resources for the Office of Readiness and Response. She has served for over 19 years in an information technology and public health capacity. Ms. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Kennesaw State University, her Master of Business Administration/Technology Management from University of Phoenix, and her Master of Public Health from University of South Florida.

Ms. Brown began her career in public health at CDC as a laboratory aide in the National Center for Infectious Diseases. As a student employee, she was responsible for the lyophilization, dispensing, and distribution of the annual influenza kit. During her tenure, she received an award for the cataloging and inventory of antigens and serum samples at CDC.

As Ms. Brown transitioned to a career in information technology, she has worked in various offices across CDC. In 2002, she received an award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Distinguished Service related to the World Trade Center and Pentagon Terrorist attacks. She assisted in the creation of the first emergency operations center by providing computer and infrastructure support.

As Ms. Brown’s career in information technology continued to evolve, she has received numerous awards for innovations in technology and has participated in several workgroups and boards. Currently, she sits on the CDC Federal Credit Union Board of Directors providing information technology insight into the organization’s goals and mission.
