Ms. Stang is the Senior Advisor for Clinical Laboratories in the Division of Laboratory Systems at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She leads the development and evaluation of regulatory and voluntary standards and guidelines, is the management specialist for the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC), provides technical assistance and consultation on laboratory standards and laboratory practices and is active in the development and distribution of good laboratory practices for waived testing and provider-performed microscopy procedure sites. Ms. Stang is a Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute’s Expert Panel on Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) member. She is also leading many activities related to next generation sequencing (NGS), including the NGS Quality Initiative.
