National Organization for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NOFO-DP18-1814)

CDC announces the availability of fiscal year 2018 (FY18) funds, financed in part by the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), to implement DP18-1814, National Organization for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to announce a program that builds on the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion’s (NCCDPHP) efforts to strengthen the capacity and capabilities of the state chronic disease prevention and health promotion public health workforce. This program will support state health departments to build skills to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate public health activities, as well as enhance leadership and communication skills that are critical for effective public health practice. Focusing on the priorities and goals of the NCCDPHP, this program will support the development of effective state chronic disease programs through implementation of practice-based learning and leadership development strategies. This program is expected to result in adoption of evidence-based chronic disease prevention and health promotion approaches and effective use of public health tools and resources.
