Academic Partnerships to Improve Health (APIH)
APIH concluded in 2022. Please visit www.cdc.gov/phleads for more recent information. The APIH program is now Public Health Leadership and Education, Advancing Health Equity and Data Science (PH LEADS). PH LEADS focuses on strengthening workforce pathways for population and public health.
APIH fellows are groomed to be leaders in community-based health.
Partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are essential to improving health outcomes and health equity. APIH focuses on improving the health of individuals and communities through alliances among academic associations, universities, and CDC. Using fellowships and workforce innovation projects, APIH serves as a CDC-wide conduit for public health workforce activities to enhance population health education for medical, nursing, and public health students.
