Animal Contact Outbreak Data

National Outbreak Reporting System Dashboard

Ten years of animal contact outbreak data at your fingertips!*

NORS Dashboard is CDC’s interactive online program for searching and accessing data reported through the National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS), which includes the Animal Contact Outbreak Surveillance System.

The interactive maps, graphs, and charts in NORS Dashboard help you learn about outbreaks reported to CDC since 2009. You can see information on outbreaks caused by bacterial, viral, and parasitic agents by:

  • Year
  • State
  • Confirmed or suspected cause
  • Type of animal
  • Setting
  • Numbers of outbreaks, illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths

For more information on how to interpret the data and on limitations to keep in mind, look at the NORS Dashboard FAQ or contact NORS staff at NORSDashboard@cdc.gov.

* NORS Dashboard also includes data on foodborne, waterborne, and enteric disease outbreaks spread through person-to-person contact, environmental contamination, and unknown modes of transmission.
