The map shows that pockets of counties with high heart disease hospitalization rates – meaning the top quintile – are located in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and North Carolina. Pockets of high rates are located in Oklahoma, Indiana, Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Iowa.
