The Food and Water System: Agriculture, Access, and Sustainability
The purpose of this track is to understand the policy, system, and environmental approaches that are needed to achieve a sustainable and equitable food and water system that is aligned with national dietary and health priorities, and assures healthful food and beverages are the easiest choices for everyone.
Built Environment and Transportation
The purpose of this track is to share innovative strategies for building environment and transportation systems that promote physical activity and healthy weight. Examples include building partnerships for healthy places, land use and transportation planning, and walkable community design.
Early Care and Education
The purpose of this track is to understand the building blocks for transforming the early care and education setting to prevent obesity. Sessions will describe innovative and sustainable policy, system, and environmental approaches for obesity prevention through improved nutrition, breastfeeding, physical activity, and limited screen or media time.
Laws and Legal Authorities
The purpose of this track is to identify replicable legal strategies and cutting-edge tools to prevent and reduce obesity. Sessions will highlight core elements for the effective application of law to prevent and reduce obesity, and provide lessons-learned and insight on practical implementation that will enable participants to take action.
The purpose of this track is to share strategies for transforming health care to better integrate public health. Sessions will explore innovative strategies that use the obesity chronic care model; focus on the unique opportunity that health care systems can play in promoting healthy behaviors; and identify cutting-edge approaches to align the incentives and goals of all stakeholders in improving health care quality and delivery related to healthy weight management.
The purpose of this track is to understand how school-based nutrition and physical activity policies, systems, and environments support learning and health. Sessions will highlight innovative strategies for promoting physical activity and physical education in schools, implementing a healthy school food environment, and connecting change in schools to changes in the community.
States and Communities
The purpose of this track is to share strategies for implementing comprehensive, integrated, and mutually supportive policy, systems and environmental approaches to obesity prevention in states, territories, tribes, and communities.
The purpose of this track is to share solutions for leading, engaging, and transforming businesses for better health. Participants will learn the processes and strategies for creating environments that promote health and well-being. Sessions will describe innovative and effective workplace policy, system, and environmental approaches to address obesity prevention and control.
