Total Combined Medical and Work Loss Costs of Youth Suicide for Persons Aged 10-24 Years, United States, 2005
In 2005, suicide among youths age 10-24 years had a total combined medical and work loss cost of $6 billion. The number and the cost of suicides increased with age, with 20 to 24 year olds representing 59% of youth suicide costs ($3.6 billion).
