VTrckS Marketing Attributes Update
In light of the vaccine supply challenges related to the current influenza season, the CDC VTrckS team has added a new value to the Special Project Provider marketing attribute called 'FLU2012_2013.' The Special Project Provider marketing attribute allows you to update the values for a group of providers in VTrckS. Previously grantees could only choose the 'H1N1 provider' value for this field.
Please note: Only one value can be selected for each provider in VTrckS. For instance, if the provider was an H1N1 provider and the marketing attribute has been set to reflect that, the grantee would need to replace the first value (H1N1provider) with the second value (FLU2012_2013). Another important note is that grantees must update the value of Special Project Provider to 'FLU2012_2013' directly in VTrckS. Updating the value through the ExIS interface is not an option. Fortunately, however, there are tools available for grantees to do mass uploads or mass changes to the marketing attributes values directly in VTrckS.
Refresher: What are Marketing Attributes in VTrckS?
A 'Marketing Attribute' is the term VTrckS uses to describe vaccine management enrollment data and additional grantee requirements at the provider level. Examples of marketing attribute data include:
- Provider Status (Active, Inactive, Pending, or Suspended)
- VFC Eligible
- 317 Eligible
- State Eligible
- Inventory on hand settings for <14 days for providers
- Settings to make doses administered and temperature logs required at the grantee level

Returns Process Update
Good News! For grantees that have deployed to full VTrckS, there has been an update made to the Vaccine Returns VTrckS functionality. This update makes the process of canceling a line item on a vaccine return easier. Click the links below to view documents that will provide more information on this change and the returns process.
- QRG Vaccine Return Order Updates[614 KB, 3 pages]- A quick reference guide summarizing this new process for canceling a line item on a return
- Return Modification Process[1,065 KB, 5 pages] - A reference guide on the entire return modification process
The CDC VTrckS team will also present optional webinars to cover both the updated process of canceling a line item as well as the way these changes fit into the entire return modification process. Information on the upcoming optional webinars was sent out on Wednesday, January 30 from the AskVM mailbox to grantee that have already deployed to full VTrckS.
VTrckS Deployment Tips
Tip: Run the PC Readiness tool before you begin training. The VTrckS training team has found that grantees who ran the PC Readiness tool and resolved any issues had a much smoother experience accessing and utilizing functionality in the VTrckS Training Environment. Active SAMS users receive access to the PC Readiness tool when they take VM-MM1 Overview, the first Manual and Module session in their deployment preparations.
