Spotlight on Spend Plan Transition

In August 2012, all 64 grantees will be utilizing VTrckS to manage their vaccine budgets. This major milestone reflects the commendable patience and commitment towards training from each grantee. The knowledge and practice gained ensures a strong foundation going forward.

"Over the past five months and wrapping up with next month's spend plan roll-on, all grantee programs will have trained for and carried out the transition to VTrckS spend plan functionality. This transition allows the program to employ a single system to support grantee vaccine budgets beginning in federal fiscal year 2013. Completing this transition to a single system is an incredible accomplishment that represents a tremendous amount of planning, effort, energy, and commitment on the part of all of those involved. Knowing the juggling that CDC's grantees take on, making such a transition in the midst of continuing to meet all of the demands of routine business, we greatly appreciate and applaud this accomplishment." - Jeanne Santoli, Branch Chief, Vaccine Supply and Assurance Branch, CDC

VTrckS Tips From Fellow Grantees

Tip 1: Attend and participate in the training sessions and practice in the training "sandbox" environment.

Tip 2: Utilize the manual and module action item checklists to help you keep track of action items and tasks during deployment preparation.

Tip 3: Outline your internal vaccine management and ordering processes (e.g., how providers will submit temperature logs, what a typical order period will now look like in VTrckS) from start to finish.
