VTrckS Connection Newsletter
As of May 2012, a total of twenty-six grantees have deployed onto VTrckS Spend Plan functionality, while nine grantees have transitioned to Vaccine Management, or full VTrckS functionality. Of the nine grantees who have made the transition to full VTrckS functionality Michigan, Washington State, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia are submitting vaccine data via an external information system (ExIS). Colorado, Chicago, Guam, and CNMI are submitting data directly into VTrckS.
On May 1, 2012 the first group of non-pilot grantees deployed onto full VTrckS functionality. One of these grantees, West Virginia, has expressed their experience using VTrckS in this way:
"VTrckS is substantially increasing the utility of the West Virginia Statewide Immunization Information System (WVSIIS) by requiring providers to reconcile their VFC vaccine inventory each month in WVSIIS, thereby making it an essential practice management tool for providers to report each and every dose (of VFC, at least) of vaccine administered." - Jeffrey Neccuzi, Program Manager, West Virginia Bureau of Public Health.
"We already placed vaccine orders for 84 providers, on May 1 and 2; and 41 of them already received their vaccine today (May 3)." - Jean Khoury, Vaccine manager/VFC Coordinator, West Virginia Bureau of Public Health.
