VTrckS Update

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

- Thomas Edison

Happy New Year! A new year brings with it new opportunities. We are excited that VTrckS Release 2.0 will go live on February 27. Individuals attending the Program Managers Meeting February 1 through 3 in Atlanta will receive a preview, which include enhancements to provider and grantee user interface, the ExIS interface, and Spend Plan. Conference attendees will be provided access to the training environment and gain hands-on practice with the system.

Please note that there is an upcoming VTrckS system blackout scheduled from February 22 through 26. During this time, grantees and providers will be unable to place vaccine orders. The system will again be available on February 27. Reminder notifications will be sent in the weeks leading up to the outage so that grantees and providers can prepare and plan accordingly.

VTrckS terminology can be unique and different than what you’re accustomed to hearing. Each month we’ll share a few new terms.

  1. Secure Access Management Services (SAMS): The CDC system used to validate and authorize users for access to VTrckS.
  2. Designated Proofing Agent (DPA): A person authorized by CDC to request addition of users to SAMS and VTrckS, and to conduct identity proofing activities. Each grantee should have two DPAs: the Program Manager and one alternate (non-Federal employee). In addition, all CDC field staff can serve as DPAs.
  3. Matrix Card: Every VTrckS grantee will have their own Matrix Card. The card is required for access to VTrckS. Your Matrix Card will be mailed to your home address when the identity proofing process is complete.
