CoCASA Training

Four CoCASA trainings (on three different dates) were conducted in 2009. These trainings were recorded and are posted below along with transcripts and additional documents discussed or referenced during the trainings. CoCASA Training 101

Title: "How to" Basics
Length: 1-1/2 hours
Target Audience: New or occasional CoCASA users

This first of four CoCASA trainings explains the basic functions of setting up a provider, creating an assessment, and entering or importing patient data. This training also describes the use of CoCASA's VFC-AFIX Evaluation tab.

CoCASA Training 201

Title: Reports: "How to" and their Interpretation
Length: 1-1/2 hours
Target Audiences: New or occasional CoCASA users (pre-requisite: CoCASA 101 or equivalent knowledge); Experienced CoCASA users who need a review or new ideas about how to use the reports.

This second of four CoCASA trainings explains the various reports within CoCASA. How to use, understand, and interpret the many reports are the topics covered in this training.

CoCASA Training 401

Title: Database Maintenance and Management
Length: 1 hour
Target Audiences: New or occasional CoCASA users (pre-requisite: CoCASA 101 or equivalent knowledge); Experienced CoCASA users who need a review

This third of four CoCASA trainings demonstrates the various functions contained in CoCASA’s upper toolbar. Topics covered include:

  • Exporting and Importing Data
  • Merging Assessments
  • Backing-up and Restoring Records
  • Deleting Records and Removing Records Marked for Deletion
  • Removing Duplicate Patients
  • Copying the Database
  • Creating a new Database
  • Changing a Database Location
  • Compacting/Repairing the Database

CoCASA Training 501

Title: Advanced & Customized Uses of Your CoCASA Data
Length: 1 hour
Target Audience: Users who coordinate AFIX, VFC or CoCASA activities at the state, territory or local levels

This fourth of four CoCASA trainings provides directions for using Microsoft Access to manage your CoCASA data and your VFC/AFIX program by creating custom queries and reports (prior knowledge of Microsoft Access not necessary).

Note: CoCASA 501 immediately follows CoCASA 401. CoCASA 401 and 501 were recorded together and the combined recording is provided below.
